Diseño de una hélice supercavitante

Dada la importancia del aprovechamiento de la energía en equipos de propulsión, los autores diseñaron una hélice de supercavitación siguiendo la propuesta de Kudo et al. (2001) de estimular la cavitación practicando una ranura en el lado de más baja presión de la pala. Para establecer el lugar de la ranura o cavitador y lograr el objetivo previsto, se hicieron simulaciones computacionales de la distribución de la presión en los perfiles hidrodinámicos a lo largo de la pala. Una vez identificada la zona se construyeron dos hélices, una convencional y otra ranurada, para su posterior experimentación, con el objeto de conocer la diferencia en el funcionamiento hidrodinámico de ellas.
